Dubai, the capital of the UAE is situated in the Middle East. The place has awesome landscapes, beautiful sights and silent beaches. The city is ranked as a top place to enjoy vacations. Museums, creeks, islands, malls, restaurants and fountains attract hordes and hordes of tourists. It is a must visit place but don’t forget to keep in mind a few useful tips while traveling to Dubai to make your journey comfortable and entertaining.

 

1. Choose the right time to plan a trip

The recommended time period for a trip to Dubai is the period from November to April. The climate is pleasant and the accommodation is reasonable. If you believe in Islam, then the best time to visit the place is during the month of Ramadan.

 

2. Carefully handle your visa and other documents

While on an international journey, do not forget to carry your visa as you may not be allowed to enter the country without it. Passport details must be complete in all respects to cover the risk.

 

3. Photography enthusiasts, caution!

You must ensure that the picture you are going to click is permitted as government buildings, airports, docks and such other areas are prohibited for clicking pictures. Never try to take the picture of local women since you may get caught in a serious legal issue.

 

4. Avoid consuming alcohol publicly

The rules in case of alcohol consumption are lenient but you need to make sure that you must not have it at any public place. Also, you can buy alcohol up to 4 bottles per person on your way home but only from duty free shops.


5. Check your drugs and prescriptions

It is important to make sure that the drugs or medicines prescribed by the doctor to you are allowed in Dubai. You must check it with your embassy about the medicines you are carrying along with you. If not allowed those drugs or prescriptions, you will have to carry a prescription note from your doctor for consuming those medicines.

 

6. Avoid PDAs

The display of homosexuality and affection in public areas is considered to be offensive in Dubai. Newly weds are expected to stay within limits and avoid public displays of affection. It is considered to be a clear disrespect towards their customs and traditions.

 

7. Don’t ignore the dressing etiquette

Dubai has special rules for its women tourists to dress themselves in such a way that they cover most of their body. This will help them show due respect to their custom and traditions. Moving out in bikinis or bathing suits on the beaches is an offense, except on beaches which are specially meant for women and children.

 

8. Check genuity while exchanging money

Whenever you need to get your currency exchanged, prefer doing so through an ATM, mall or a bank. The money exchanged on the street may put you in a difficult situation.

 

9. Carry your documents if you wish to drive

It is important to have an international driver’s license if you want to hire and drive any vehicle on your own. The rules are quiet strict and you should never be drunk while driving. In case an accident occurs, the case will be handled by the police as per the local laws.

Do keep in mind that penalty in the form of fines and imprisonment can be charged if you do not follow the rules. Remember these useful tips as they can put you in a major disaster if not followed diligently.
